1.According to the Taiwan-Germany Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement (STA) signed by the NSC and Germany’s BMFTR on March 21, 2023, this joint call for proposals is announced. Application guidelines are attached (or can be viewed on the NSC website under the "Call for Proposals" section).
2.The proposed projects are expected to have a 3-year duration, starting from August 1, 2026. After jointly discussing the project content, the Taiwanese and German PIs must each submit an application to the NSC and BMFTR, respectively, by the application deadline in order for the project to be approved.
3.To encourage more scholars and experts in the field of artificial intelligence to participate in this joint call, the NSC and BMFTR will hold an online briefing in early November 2025. This session will facilitate interaction and exchange between Taiwanese and German AI scholars. Interested participants may register online, with registration details and participation instructions to be announced on the NSC website.

5. Application deadline: Applications will be accepted online until November 28, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted. After the PI completes the project proposal and uploads it to the application system, please contact the Office of International Affairs (ext. 5192) to ensure submission before the deadline. PIs should allow 14 working days for administrative processing by the institution to avoid missing the deadline and affecting their rights.
